The Mantua Chamber Orchestra is on tour with the French horn star Alessio Allegrini and the Solo Winds of the Orchestra di Santa Cecilia
The Mantua Chamber Orchestra is on tour from March 18 to 21 with the French horn star Alessio Allegrini and the Solo Winds of the Orchestra di Santa Cecilia.
The tour includes two concerts in Mantua, in the scope of XXIII concert season “Tempo d’Orchestra”, and two dates in Cremona (Teatro Ponchielli) and Vicenza (Teatro Comunale), where the Orchestra is guest of two historic music institutions. Extra dates are likely to be annouced.
The new spring production of the Orchestra will be given birth at Teatro Bibiena, Mantua, where the rehearsal phase will take place, before landing on prestigious Italian stages.
With the horn virtuoso Alessio Allegrini – selected by Riccardo Muti at the age of 23 as first horn at the Teatro alla Scala, guest soloist with the Berliner Philharmoniker and pupil of Claudio Abbado – and the Solo Winds of the Orchestra dell’Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia, the formation will propose a special program enirely dedicated to W.A. Mozart, combining his Concerto no. 4 in E flat major for horn and orchestra K. 495, the Symphony no. 29 in A major K. 201 and the Sinfonia concertante in E flat major K. 297b (in its version for flute, oboe, bassoon, horn and orchestra).
The premiere will be staged in Cremona on the evening of Friday, March 18, the same programme will be then performed in Matua on Saturday 19 and Sunday 20, and finnaly land in Vicenza on Monday 21.
